Connecticut potter Bob Parrott has been working in ceramics since the early 1970s and is known for functional stoneware informed by American, English and Japanese pottery traditions.

This large studio pottery bowl belonged to the Dalton-Morris family and was part of the collection at Stillman House I, Marcel Breuer’s celebrated modernist house in Litchfield, Connecticut. Mrs. Dalton-Morris was a co-founder of the Litchfield Craft Fair, and the family’s support of local artists and craftspeople was reflected throughout their home.

The bowl remained with the family after they sold Stillman I in 1985 and is now offered as part of the Stillman Collection at GEORGE.
