This pair of three-drawer chests, was designed by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings in 1950, featuring a walnut ebonized finish with oversized round brass pulls. Each piece is marked with the John Stuart metal plaque and a Widdicomb sticker. Robsjohn-Gibbings, a British-born designer, was a prominent figure in mid-century modern design, known for his refined yet functional style. He collaborated with prestigious manufacturers like John Stuart and Widdicomb, both renowned for their fine craftsmanship. John Stuart produced pieces in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a hub for American furniture-making.
