"Late Afternoon" by Simka Simkhovitch (1893-1949)
Simkhovitch, Born in Russia, studied at the Academy of Fine Art in St. Petersburg. He emigrated to New York in 1924 where he exhibited at the Marie Sterner Gallery and was closely associated with the Whitney Museum. His work has been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY and the Whitney Museum, among others.
