This mid century modern three-drawer chest comes from the No. 4000 Series “Steel Frame” collection, introduced in 1954 by George Nelson for Herman Miller as part of his iconic steel-frame storage series.

Nelson, one of the most influential figures of the mid-century modern movement, served as Herman Miller’s design director and shaped postwar American interiors through innovative, architectural furniture.

Featuring walnut drawer fronts set within a slim black steel frame, a laminate top, and polished chrome oval pulls, this vintage Herman Miller dresser is a nice example of 1950s modernist design and a timeless George Nelson steel frame chest.
